APTIM Resilience Planner Intern in Boca Raton, Florida

Job Overview:

APTIM is seeking an energetic and motivated intern to join our Resilient Solutions team working on coastal related resilience projects, research, and analysis to contribute to our growing practice in this area. With changing climate and growing coastal populations, resilience of coastal communities is critical. APTIM provides a full-service resilience offering to our clients from planning and engineering through disaster response and recovery. APTIM's internship program provides students with the opportunity to apply skills gained in an academic setting to challenging projects and meaningful work assignments. Interns will be paired with experienced mentors and should be prepared to work in a dynamic environment, both independently and within a team, gaining experience in various aspects of coastal resilience.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

· Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data

· Researching coastal resilience topics

· Applying concepts of coastal science and engineering

· Developing and delivering presentations to share findings with internal audiences

· Perform varied office functions in the preparation of reports and plans

· Assist with scheduling, conducting, and documenting technical meetings

· Aiding in creating content for the coastal resilience branding and digital strategy

Basic Qualifications:

· Attending an accredited educational institution pursuing a Bachelor's & Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or Environmental Sciences

· Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· Must have experience with MS Office software, including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint

· Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills

· Must be a self-starter, excel in time management, and work well under pressure

· Must be highly collaborative and able to work independently

· Must be available to work in various settings such as in the office, depending on department needs.
