Adecco US, Inc. Diesel Mechanic in Bluffton, South Carolina

Olsten Staffing is helping with recruiting for a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for working with diesel engines. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related components to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares reports on use, condition and servicing of vehicles and other reports as required by LRTA Policies and Procedures.

  • Performs emergency road service to equipment outside of the normal garage repairs.

  • Inspects, adjusts, and replace brakes as necessary. Inspects suspension components, repairs, or replaces worn parts.

  • Mends damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts.

  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical automotive apparatus such as starters, alternators, and relays.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Must pass a DOT Motor carrier Safety Physical

  • Must be capable of working varying hours from 4:00 AM-11:00 PM Monday through Sunday (7days a week and Holidays) and perform on-call duty when necessary but normally will work 8:00 AM -5:00 PM.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma

  • One-to-two-year certificate of automotive mechanics from a technical school or college.

  • Two-to-Four years of experience in the field of diesel mechanics.

Certificates:

  • Must be in possession of or can acquire within 6 months of employment a valid class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.

  • Must be a licensed driver for a minimum of three years and have no serious moving violations on record.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
