The Cigna Group Pharma Strategy & Contracting Negotiator (Commitment as Future Expat of Switzerland) in Bloomington, Minnesota

SUMMARY:

Responsible for analytical, strategy, negotiation and relationship management of assigned pharmaceutical manufacturer as well as negotiation and contracting on behalf of Express Scripts.

This position will focus on strengthening pharma relationships, drug strategy, and negotiating skills, with the expectation to move into a Principal level position as an Expat residing in Switzerland within 12-24 months, as a position becomes available and assuming performance meets expectations. Interested candidates MUST be comfortable with that commitment and comfortable with the fluidity of that timing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Management of assigned pharmaceutical manufacturer relationships as well as negotiation and contracting on behalf of Express Scripts.

  • Support the implementation and execution of rebate initiatives and overall cross-functional strategies to achieve financial goals.

  • Identify risks and develop/propose mitigation plans to minimize business disruption.

  • Manage assignments from other tasks from larger accounts to gain experience and support the team.

  • Support day-to-day rebate operational functions and status tracking for assigned team.

  • Identify necessary key account analytics and commercial terms.

  • Maintain internal and external relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, senior leadership, finance, operations, pharma contracting, and legal.

  • Special projects as assigned.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assess program metrics and financials.

  • Ability to develop relationships and communicate value proposition to meet stakeholder’s needs

  • Robust communication skills to effectively convey information and idea in a clear, meaningful and timely manner across all levels of the organization.

  • Developing collaborative relationships for the purpose of accomplishing work objectives

  • Able to work on own initiative and to prioritize workload effectively.

  • Ability to manage timelines to meet deadlines and document progress on projects as required. Good project management skills.

  • Ability to interact in multi-cultural environment

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills in particular Excel, Word Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge and/or experience of the US Healthcare, Pharma and PBM industry

  • Hands-on and proactive approach to identify and execute on new business opportunities.
