Robert Half Fixed Asset Accountant in Bloomington, Minnesota

Description We are in the market for a Fixed Asset Accountant to join our team in the Semi-Conductors and Electric Component Manufacturing industry, based in Bloomington, Minnesota. The individual in this role will play a crucial part in our Finance department, with a wide-ranging influence across the company. They will work closely with management and Operations on all capital project initiatives, and will be responsible for managing all aspects of fixed asset accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Play a pivotal role in accounting for company fixed assets, including monitoring and coordination of capital projects.

• Review and approve capital projects, ensuring compliance with capital expenditure policies.

• Oversee the tracking and management of construction in progress (CIP) assets.

• Ensure proper accounting classification for asset purchases, facilities, and repair/maintenance expenditures.

• Conduct monthly closing activities, including system closing, capitalization of capital projects, asset additions/retirements, and depreciation expense posting.

• Generate monthly fixed asset reports for management review.

• Support the general accounting monthly closing process, including journal entries and account reconciliation.

• Facilitate year-end financial closing activities, preparing information for external auditors and liaising with them for areas of responsibility.

• Manage and coordinate periodic fixed asset physical counts, including documentation, reporting, and retirement tracking and approval.

• Review and assess quarterly impairment of assets, managing the documentation, reporting, and accounting.

• Manage the review of goods received/not invoiced liabilities on a quarterly basis.

• Generate fixed asset book and tax depreciation expense reports periodically.

• Play a key role in the management and upgrade of the Sage Fixed Assets module and the WorkPlace ereq system. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Semi-Conductors or Electric Component Manufacturing industry

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and ERP Solutions

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

• Proven ability in handling Accounting Functions and Accrual Accounting

• Experience with Auditing and Budget Processes

• Expertise in Capitalization and Fixed Asset Accounting is required

• Ability to manage Fixed Asset Additions, Fixed Asset Depreciation, and Fixed Asset Ledger

• Proficient in Fixed asset management and Sage Software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all work

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be able to respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
