Hunt Electric Corporation Business Development in Bloomington, Minnesota

This Business Development role is responsible for building and developing relationships that result in the successful preparation of electrical estimates for industrial and commercial projects (including automotive, mission critical, housing developments, design build, and healthcare.) The Business Developer will collaborate with internal teams and external customers to assist in the planning and facilitation of a project from sale to kick off. - Maintain and develop new customer relationships to secure future business in the commercial and industrial markets. Attend on and off-site meetings and events to cultivate relationships and identify opportunities. - Determine the customer s needs and interpret their definition of a successful project. - Review project proposals to determine Hunt s project scope and responsibilities. - Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development, and Estimating teams to prepare project proposals. - Secure projects while recognizing commitment to quality workmanship, positive industry image, and customer satisfaction. - Execute the estimating plan/strategy which includes providing accurate estimates of labor, materials, and administrative costs for assigned projects. - Lead small teams of estimators tasked with preparing estimates for projects, facilitate the estimating kickoff meetings, verify the estimator check list has been completed, and participate in final bid reviews. - Participate in the interview process and responds to customer questions. - Prepare, process, and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and quotations necessary to perform the responsibilities of the contract. - Participate and/or facilitate project planning and follow up meetings throughout the project life cycle. Interface with Designers, Project Managers, and others to resolve issues throughout the project. - Develop relationships with vendors. - Participate & present in committee and department meetings. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in electrical construction, construction management, electrical engineering, or similar discipline preferred. - Two (2) year degree in related field or equivalent experience. - Experience working in the electrical construction industry with 3-5 years working as a Salesperson and/or Project Manager. - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, sales tactics, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and the coordination of manpower and resources. - Strong computerized estimating skills using Enterprise or similar software and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe/Bluebeam. - Detail oriented with strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. - Ability to work in both an autonomous environment, as well as part of a larger team.
