This position is responsible for providing brief, focused, and evidence-based individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention and management, consultation and liaison with members of the University community, and outreach and community prevention programming. Supports faculty and staff in student facing endeavors including retention efforts, and maintains active university committee involvement. This is a full time, 9 month, on-campus position; anticipated start date August 2024. Responsibilities:

  • Direct Care; conducts intake interviews with students and determines appropriate disposition for services; provides evidence-based individual counseling to college students using a time-limited therapy model; facilitates group counseling services including interpersonal process groups and psychoeducational groups on various topics (e.g., DBT skills and anxiety); provides crisis intervention and management to students presenting in crisis; documents all services provided in an electronic medical record.

Consultation, Liaison, Outreach and Community Prevention Programming; designs and conducts programs that provide education and heighten awareness about psychological and personal development issues that college students commonly face to members of the university community; provides consultation services to members of the University community
