Robert Half Collections Specialist in Bloomingdale, New Jersey

This Collections Specialist role will be based in the Bloomingdale, New Jersey region and will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity. Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act rules and regulations

  • Lead all billing and reporting activities according to deadlines

  • Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment

  • Register all customer payments to the correct reports

  • Take care of inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence

  • Ensure payments are processed

  • Correctly process bankruptcy filings when received

  • Act as liaison in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries

  • Maintain and update customer files to sustain data integrity Requirements - Strong communication and social skills

  • Prior experience using accounting software

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Billing Collection

  • Expertise in Collections

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Credit experience preferred

  • 2-3 years of prior high volume collections experience

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred

  • Ability to analyze and make decisions on customer accounts
