Everglades Harvesting Inc Farmworker/Laborer in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota

Need 24 full time, seasonal, temporary Farmworker/Laborer to work in Blooming Prairie, MN, and at locations in Mower, Olmsted, Goodhue, Blue Earth, Faribault, Nicollet, Rice, Dodge Counties in Minnesota. From: 07/08/2024 to 08/11/2024 Work: 40 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 7 hrs./day, Sat. 5 hrs./day. Seven (7) hours per day, Monday through Friday, and five (5) hours Saturday, is normal. However, the worker may be requested but not required to work additional hours per day depending upon the condition of the crop, weather, maturity of the crop and market conditions. As required in MN, all hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Minnesota ESST Law: Beginning 01/01/2024, an employee earns one hour of sick and safe time for every 30 hours of worked time and can earn up to 48 hours each year. Corn Detassel - $84.00 per clean acre; (minimum 0.10 acres per hour); Estimated wage rate is $21.00/hour or 0.25/acre per hour; $18.50 per hour guaranteed. Must Apply By: 07/26/2024 JOB DUTIES: Workers will perform duties as instructed and assigned by their supervisor. The worker will walk down the aisles between the plants in the corn fields to detassel seed corn and remove rogue plants, weeds, and volunteer corn plants from seed corn production fields. In order to perform this kind of work, the worker must be able to work outside for at least 6 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite strength and endurance, working quickly and skillfully with their hands. The worker will process seeds, package seeds, sort seed packets, and prepare seeds in the field on the farm for planting. Corn Pollination - Including shoot bagging, tassel bagging, pollination, phenotypical data collection such as but not limited to plant height, ear height, leaf angles. General Farm Labor: Workers may be required to perform general farm labor job duties including cleanup of working area or other tasks as needed. Other Requirements: Workers seeking employment under this job order must be available for entire period requested by the employer. JOB REQUIREMENTS: No experience required, employer will train. Able to work outdoors, in extreme temperatures, with extensive walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements; criminal background check post hire and possible drug test post hire at employer's expense; no minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
