The Cigna Group Systems Analysis Application Advisor - FINTECH in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Role Summary

The Portfolio + Operations, Audit/Tax/Treasury Production Operations team is looking for an experienced Systems Analysis Advisor with broad technical skills and experience supporting Financial Systems. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with technology and business teams to support daily operations of our diverse suite of applications. This position provides technical solutions to business processes ensuring those solutions are resilient, flexible, and meet audit and compliance requirements as well as company best practices. It analyzes, maintains, and documents changes for existing and new applications/modules to ensure system stability and performance. Participation on special large-scale project teams is also required.

This position is high visibility and impact to the organization. The role bridges the knowledge space between business needs and technical fulfillment of those needs. It works closely with business partners as well as technical development and configuration teams to ensure the business needs are met with the best technical solutions. It guides and supports on and offshore managed service partners to provide these technical solutions. This is a technology first position filled by a technical generalist with broad experience across multiple languages, databases, and infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Interfacing with all levels of the business areas to gather requirements, communicate current status, discuss levels of service.

  • Building a relationship of trust with business partners at multiple levels of the organization.

  • Working with technology partners including our managed services partners, infrastructure, external vendors, and other groups to maintain legacy systems and support our suite of applications.

  • Creating and updating systems documentation.

  • Maintaining the stability and usefulness of applications by effectively managing our technology partners.

  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and annual SOX reviews and work with internal and external teams to satisfy SOX audit exercises.

  • Analyzing the current business and technology processes and trends to provide improvement ideas.

  • Reviewing business requirements and preparing system specifications for the developers to act upon.

  • Areas of responsibility could include tax and/or treasury with some other corporate functions as well.

Qualifications Include:

  • 7+ years supporting a diverse selection of technology solutions, programing languages, databases etc.

  • Preferred technology experience should include a selection of the following: SQL Server and/or Oracle databases (SQL in general), IBM Connect:Direct, APIs, Dynatrace, Splunk, Angular, Python, Java Micro Services, UDeploy, Airflow, Glue & Power BI, and basic Windows and Linux server experience.

  • Experience with troubleshooting complex technology systems issues and leading others to a solution.

  • Ability to communicate appropriately to all levels of an organization (written and verbal) including the ability to convey technical ideas in clear manner to non-technical colleagues.

  • Comfort presenting to both technology and business personnel.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a triage situation.

  • Works well with others and takes responsibility for team success/failures.

  • Self-starter and finisher who drives projects and tasks to conclusion.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

  • Knowledge of financial technology systems and industry experience preferred, esp. treasury and/or tax.

  • Understanding of the Agile development life cycle or other project management experience is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and at least 7 years of solid, diverse work experience in technology, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Some off hours and weekend work required as needed in an application support environment.

  • Cigna Work Location: Bloomfield, CT (in person, minimum 3 days a week).

  • 10% Travel.
