CHS, Inc Retail Product Specialist - Crop Protection in Bismarck, North Dakota

Summary

CHS, Inc. has an opportunity in our wholesale agronomy division looking for a Crop Protection Branded Focus Product Specialist supporting CHS Retail in South Dakota and Southwest North Dakota. The ideal candidate will work across assigned CHS Retail Business Units at all levels (Agronomy Manager, Sales Manager, and Agronomy Sales Representative) to grow and promote CHS focus/branded products. This role will be the lynchpin of developing, planning and leading demand creation and sales tactics for the assigned Business Units.

The ideal candidate will be located in South Dakota or Southwest North Dakota.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, supervise & provide leadership to achieve the sales region’s business development objectives related to commercially branded products as they relate to overall company strategy. Promotes the sale of proprietary products/services in the region.

  • Drive sales growth to meet assigned Business Units' sales revenue goals for CHS branded products. Responsible to meet sales targets for CHS branded products per Business Unit. Provide best in class agronomy services and products.

  • Lead across sales regions teams both retail and wholesale to build and execute focus product growth strategies at all levels of Business Unit’s sales organization.

  • Serve as the primary focus product contact for stakeholders in core region. Maintain a consistent drumbeat for Business Unit's across region (e.g., by playing a leading role in business reviews at all levels, rolling outs, trainings, gathering feedback on products, etc.).

  • Throughout the season, lead an in-season demand creation effort for core region to identify and execute region specific sales campaigns, customer experiences, and key tactics by defining target audiences and developing appropriate strategy for customers and brands.

  • Provide input for CHS Agronomy Focus/Branded Products to help develop literature and messaging needed to grow focus brands.

  • Operate within the restraints of the budget - pricing, sales strategy, market development, product promotion, volume increases, & expenses.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or associated with essential job functions.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 4+ years of agronomy sales experience

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science preferred in agriculture

  • Experience in agri-chemical business

  • Experience working across all levels of customers sales organization from head office to front line sellers

  • Experience building, collaborating and implementing sales and growth strategy with customers

  • Passion for agriculture and sales

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Proficient marketing and sales skills

  • Strong presentation skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
