We are excited to be recruiting for a Head Chef to join our Culinary Brigade! Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee our Culinary team where care is our favourite flavor.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the operation of the main kitchen, ensuring that all the outlets and banquets operate successfully and quality produce is delivered from the brigade with cost efficiency in mind. You will also directly manage the Stewarding function and take ownership of Food Hygiene and Kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards. You will liaise with the relevant Managers to ensure all outlets and banquets operate successfully, in accordance with the standard of the hotel and are individually profitable. You will ensure that all Senior Chefs are maximising colleague productivity and prepare annual operating budgets which will form part of the Business Plan.

Along with your role as an operational Head Chef, ensuring the brand standards are maintained, you will also oversee the day to day administration of the department, with a strong focus on cost management, Food Safety and Standards, dealing with any colleague issues and queries. You will ensure that all Chefs are actively engaged in their roles and will assist to maintain motivation in the department, by bringing an air of fun and creativity to the team. Encouraging and mentoring your chef’s you will encourage and support competitions and networking within the community.

What you can expect

Salary is between £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending upon experience

Qualifications:

About you:

With previous experience as a Senior Sous or Head Chef in a similar size Hotel operation looking for a new challenge; you will have a thorough knowledge of a banqueting hotel operation, preferably with experience in luxury international brands. You will have a proven track record of managing and engaging a team, controlling food cost and budget management, as well as excellent hygiene ratings.

Qualifications in Kitchen Production (e.g. NVQ in Food Preparation or equivalent) will be required. Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene (FSMS) practices (with relevant qualifications) and occupational health and safety standards will be essential, conforming to UK standards.

Computer Skills in MS Office, and Recipe Maintenance System is preferred.
