Job Description

The Building Maintenance Manager at Daniel Payne Legacy Village Foundation plays a vital role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. Responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance and repair of all buildings and infrastructure by developing and implementing maintenance schedules, and conducting regular inspections to identify areas for improvement or repair. The Building Maintenance Manager will also collaborate closely with staff to address any maintenance-related issues and ensure that our facilities meet regulatory standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safe conditions and working practices across the facilities

  • Routinely inspect and perform preventative maintenance for the building, including heating, cooling, lighting, and alarm systems, to make sure they are in working order

  • Ensure all maintenance tasks related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roof, and facade maintenance are completed in a timely manner (typically 48 hours for tickets submitted by staff)

  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required

  • Supervise contractors for major repairs when necessary

  • Any additional maintenance and repair duties required by the Executive Director

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of maintenance procedures for a large facility

  • Equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to efficiently handle standard maintenance tasks

  • Ability to use ticketing system to track maintenance requests

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with varying levels of urgency and a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk/stand/kneel/crouch for long periods of time, and physically operate maintenance equipment

  • Problem-solving skills for addressing safety and maintenance concerns

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for supervising contractors and support crews, and working with DPLV staff and community members

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with DPLV staff and community members

  • Highly engaged, adaptable, and solutions-oriented in approach to work and people

Timeline and Compensation:

This is a contractual position starting in April. The compensation will be at a $1200 monthly retainer..
