Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician installs, repairs equipment and physical structures, electrical systems, and general routine maintenance. Patching, painting, general repair, and replacement work as required. Performs preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems as well as cleaning, changing oils and replacing worn parts.
Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain equipment and physical structures.
Perform electrical system repairs and general routine maintenance.
Conduct patching, painting, general repair, and replacement work.
Execute preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Clean, change oils, and replace worn parts as necessary.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED.
Two plus years of experience in building and maintenance work.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and drawings.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to detect defects in equipment and make proper repairs.
Proficiency in working from sketches, diagrams, and prints.
Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used in trades involved.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance.
Knowledge of HVAC systems and preventive maintenance.
Capability in electrical troubleshooting and blueprint reading.

Work Environment
This position is in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. You will frequently walk, stand, bend, squat, and move continuously throughout the shift. You must be capable of lifting 0-50 lbs in the proper ergonomic position.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Binghamton, New York.
