Guthrie Cook - Food and Nutrition Services - Full Time in Binghamton, New York

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Food Production supervisor maintains quality and correct quantity of food items served to patients, cafeteria customers. Understands that patient needs are paramount and that changes in diets, etc can be instant. Is flexible as to these needs

Education, License & Cert:

High school graduate preferred.

Experience:

Experience cooking for large numbers in a health care setting.

Must obtain Servsafe certification within 6 months of employment

Essential Functions:

  1. Prepares varied food items as determined by production sheets and department needs.

  2. Prepares specified food items using standardized recipes for patient tray service, cafeteria and snack bar according to production sheets.

  3. Assist in preparation of salads, cold plates, short orders and all hot and cold food for patient trays and the cafeteria snack bar.

  4. Dates and stores leftover food as required by the department procedures.

  5. Performs procedures for cleaning and sanitizing food service equipment and maintains a clean and neat work area.

  6. Takes initiative in completing work that needs to be done within area of responsibility.

Other Duties:

  1. Other duties as assigned.

Pay rate ranges from $16.00 - $22.37 per hour.
