Job Description

Good Shepherd Communities, a non-profit senior services provider in the Greater Binghamton, New York State market seeks a progressive, collaborative, innovative and outcomes driven executive to serve as its next Chief Operating Officer (COO).

With a deep history of service and a strong reputation in the Greater Binghamton area, we have had the privilege to serve seniors since 1870. We employ over 500 individuals in the Greater Binghamton and Chenango County regions. Good Shepherd is comprised of three communities: Good Shepherd Fairview Home, Good Shepherd Village at Endwell and Chase Memorial Nursing Home & Rehab. Good Shepherd Communities provide direct and indirect care to over 850 seniors in the following levels of care: CCRC (fee-for-service), independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing settings.

Reporting to the President/CEO, the COO’s will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization

  • Creating an environment with the senior leadership team that encourages recruitment and retention of employees

  • Foster collaboration across the Good Shepherd Communities affiliates through the engagement of staff leadership

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to maintain positive quality outcomes, achieving financial goals for the organization, and accomplish organizational objectives

  • Working in partnership with the President/CEO and working closely with Senior Management and leaders across the organization to help drive the goals of the organization

  • The overall successful operational performance and continued success of Good Shepherd Communities and its affiliates

  • Budget planning and routine analysis of financials while implementing sound financial solutions

  • Ensuring that IT infrastructure needs of the organization are met while looking to the future for technological needs of the organization

This is an outstanding opportunity to serve as a key team member of a high quality and caring focused senior living organization. The COO candidate must be able to demonstrate a record of success in a complex and/or multi-site organization, executive level experience, demonstrate a record of achievement along with shown ability to adapt and respond to changing market demands in the senior living, non-profit environment.
