Guthrie Administrative Assistant -Medical Oncology - Full Time in Binghamton, New York

Position Summary:

Performs Administrative Assistant duties of a confidential nature and carries out delegated administrative functions on behalf of the Administrator, and Wellness Nurse. Maintains efficiency of office operations.

Education, License & Cert:

High school graduate or equivalent required.

Experience:

Word processing knowledge and experience desired. Proficient in using computer, especially all aspects of Office 365: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Computer skills essential including word processing, database, and spreadsheets. Possesses the acumen required to prepare reports, records accurate minutes at meetings, and composes letters, using proper rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to work well under pressure, exercise independent judgment, maintains composure, and a pleasant attitude.

Essential Functions:

  1. Compliance with the rules and regulations of all federal, state, and local governments.

  2. Maintain accurate and updated Census and Roster

  3. Complete 30 day Refund, for each discharge from facility, working with finance department to obtain accurate financial information.

  4. Assists in preparing documents and reports for Department of Human Services surveys.

  5. Schedules and coordinates meetings, events, appointments, and/or other similar activities.

  6. Communicate Admissions, discharges, diet orders and resident preferences to dietary.

  7. Maintains an accurate system of files for reports, correspondence, and articles.

  8. Receives phone calls, office visitors, and refers to appropriate staff members if they do not require the Administrators’ personal attention.

  9. Responsible for facility billing.

  10. Responsible for maintaining an up‐to‐date PCH staff organization chart.

  11. Complete Bi‐weekly staff schedule and maintain accuracy with any schedule changes

Other Duties:

  1. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential since the individual in this position works with confidential/sensitive materials on a daily basis, including patient information, medical records, employee information, etc.

  2. Diplomacy, tact, effective problem solving skills and professionalism are of utmost importance. Independent judgment and non‐routine tasks. Frequently works under tight deadlines.

Pay for the position is $16-22.37/hr.
