This is a Security Assistant Shift Manager position located in Biloxi, MS. 

Job Summary: Assists the Shift Manager with planning, directing, and coordinating security activities to safeguard company assets, employees, guests, or others on company property.

Responsibilities: Monitors day-to-day operations to ensure that the department is meeting goals and objectives, is following policies and procedures and is providing services effectively and efficiently; takes corrective action as appropriate. Produces and maintains an exceptional work environment, one in which Hard Rockers thrive. Assists in the supervision of Security employees on assigned shift. Patrols the property on assigned shift, identifying potential security and/or safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate individual to ensure the safety and protection of guests, employees, and the property. Acts as a back-up to security officers on assigned shift and assumes their duties when necessary. Updates departmental procedures manuals and is responsible for the documentation of information and the maintenance of all statistical reports. Assists in the daily operations of the Security Department. Prepares and requests reports on incidents involving guests, employees, and the property. Guards all transfers of monies and chips on the casino floor, as well as the physical transportation of hopper fills, chip fills, and credits. Facilitates the flow of information throughout the property by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings. Conducts daily pre-shift meetings briefing staff on pertinent information. Ensures the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports. Maintains adequate staffing levels in the security department by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees and recommending promotions and terminations, as needed. Produces weekly schedules and coordinates break schedule for Officers. Monitors labor resources to ensure maximum effectiveness in guest service while realizing full profit potential. Process required reports each shift. Observes Officer performance providing timely & effective feedback. Ensures that Officers are maintaining a proper image in regards to grooming and uniform standards. Monitors property ensuring cleanliness & proper maintenance. Ensures that Officers are informed of pertinent information including property/departmental goals and objectives. Establishes and maintain close working relationships with all departments ensuring maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service. Makes suggestions for improvements in overall operations with emphasis on increasing guest satisfaction, revenues as well as reducing costs. Acknowledges high achieving Hard Rockers. Displays fair treatment with respect to disciplinary action and produce documentation as necessary. Resolves guest & Hard Rocker issues/disputes. Develops, implements, and participates in various committees addressing guest/Hard Rocker issues. Produces performance appraisals for direct reporting Hard Rockers. Adheres to department and property policies and procedures. Maintains knowledge of property information & memorabilia. Promotes safety awareness to minimize work related injuries. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: The level of education, experience, and training an individual must have at minimum to be considered qualified for the position. Specific skills such as computer usage, communication, 10-key touch, etc. The physical components of the job and how the physical aspect is accomplished. Does the position require LIFTING 50 pounds, or does it require one to MOVE 50 pounds. Can the 50 pounds be moved using a dolly or cart? (Examples: climbi g, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, color vision, etc.). Associates degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience, preferable with a background in law enforcement, with progressively higher supervisor experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to obtain a MS Gaming Work Permit. Extensive knowledge of MS Gaming Commission rules and regulations required. Must project a professional and positive image. High energy level. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities for self and others. Good judgment and common sense. Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Computer literate with knowledge of a variety of software applications including Microsoft Office. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written). Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all Hard Rockers and guests. Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely. Ability to understand and promulgate written memos, instructions, regulations. Ability to effectively analyze and solve problems. Basic knowledge of mathematics.
