Well, here is your chance! We are looking for a passionate colleague to contribute to the model development process and to support the design team in creating products that meet the needs of kids of all ages around the world!
Core Responsibilities
Senior Design Quality Coaches (or Senior Model Coaches as we call them internally) are responsible to:
Support and lead the product development plan and the Model Quality Assurance process, to secure quality in models when it comes to the build and play experience and safety within the LEGO Group's DNA
Combine great design with high quality models that can be handled by consumers
Work as a team and provide support on all models that requires model coach support and collaboration
Identify if products have the right age mark fit for both the build and play experience, with a deep knowledge on how to develop age-appropriate products
Recognize weak points in models, building pitfalls, element collision to identify and ensure the great play scenario
Have a consumer centric approach to coaching and guiding designers to make design decisions based on consumer insights and knowledge on elements and materials performance
Develop and maintain Rules & Tools and onboarding courses which support model development

The Model Governance Team sits within the LEGO® Design organization, supporting the model design development by driving the Model Quality Assurance process. This is a team environment where there is a clear passion for the building journey and play experience, and for applying relevant tools from e.g. Rhino, NX calculation, consumer insights, consumer testing and using the Experience curve. In addition, our expert coaches act as a source of expertise to other designers and specialists, on diverse topics such as consumer insights, kids capabilities, model building, element platforms, model stability, etc.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate has proven experience on driving product development processes while making vital adjustments during the process in order to maintain the overall goal and deadlines; together with expertise developing guidelines and communicating its content to users. Good technical and functional understanding of elements and plastics would have an added advantage.
Regarding the academical background, teaching studies or similar could be a benefit, and also to have a clear passion for kids related topics.
Moreover, someone who can demonstrate:
Demonstrate the ability to lead, guide and influence colleagues within own and other departments, and demonstrate certain skill leadership and an interest in creating an area of expertise
Solid skills within communication and how to approach partners with constructive, timely and relevant feedback
Clear collaborative approach who loves to work with a very diverse set of people in regards to profiles, roles and responsibilities
Proactivity in seeking and understanding consumer insights and translating insights into quality demands of a product experience
Strong in time plan management, together with ability to manage many tasks and to cope with occasional high workload while keeping focus
