Job Description:

Provides comprehensive assessment and care to include both basic life support and advance life support for patients at location and during medical transport. Incorporates mission of Intermountain Health

Scope

  • Provide assessment and treatment of patient's physical and psychosocial needs upon initial assessment and provide appropriate stabilization of patient at location and during transport.

  • Be part of a team that provides our patients with safe treatment and transport to and from locations.

  • Work with outside agencies and patient care providers to provide appropriate care for treatment and transport of patients.

  • Be able to lift and move patients safely.

  • Have good communication skills with patients, family members, other patient care providers, and communication center.

  • Operating knowledge of specific medical equipment, such as EKG monitor and defibrillator, mechanical ventilator, IV pumps ect...

  • Operating knowledge of progressive protocols to treat patients in all age groups with medical/trauma conditions.

  • Ability to drive large vehicles safely. Maintains clean driving record. Be able to be EVOC certified.

  • Maintains cleanliness and inventory of ambulances.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Montana State and National Registry Licensure or eligible to obtain.

  • 1 year of Paramedic experience in ground ambulance transporting service.

  • Basic life support (BLS)

  • Advance cardiac life support (ACLS)

  • Pediatric Advance life support (PALS)

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) with In 12 months of hire

  • FEMA 100 and 200.b upon hire.

  • Advance Trauma life support (ATLS) audit or Transport Professional Advance Trauma Course (TPATC) or Prehospital Trauma life support (PHTLS) with in 2 years of hire.

  • Critical care transport Paramedic (CCP) within 2 years of hire.
