Billings School District 2 is seeking a CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN for the Career Center for the 2024 - 2025 School Year. Schedule: 9 months; Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Wage: $20.28 per hour for 120-day probationary period; then $22.54 per hour Duties: - Supervising and instructing small groups of students in plumbing; carpentry, painting, layout work, concrete work; framing, electrical, sheet rock, mechanical work, roofing, hanging doors, trim out, staining, wallpapering, hanging draperies and rods. - Training students in appropriate use and maintenance of tools. - Monitoring student safety regarding site conditions, ladder and scaffolding, overhead dangers, ground conditions and other potential dangers. - Inventorying and purchasing materials - Securing supplies, tools, equipment and building materials - Maintaining all tools and tool repair - Preparing and coding invoices and statements for the Home Builders? Association - Maintaining records of distribution of tools and equipment needing repair - Maintaining all inventories of supplies and equipment - Supervising students in the classroom and at the construction site. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; - Minimum of five years experience at the Journeyman level of carpenter or skilled tradesman; - Valid driver's license; - Special knowledge, advanced skills and abilities in the construction trade; - Carpentry; electrical; plumbing; - Painting; drywall; concrete form and flat work; - Sheet metal; - Transit; - Blueprint reading; - Operating a school bus.
