A Day in the Life

Medtronic is looking for a passionate, experienced, and self-starter Senior Technical Supervisor for our Billerica, MA., facility to support Affera’s cardiac ablation generator product manufacturing. As a Senior Technical Supervisor, you will have responsibility for supporting the functional and performance manufacturing test processes and hardware test technician team. In this role you will be part of a team that grows the operations capacity to support our customer needs in this newly acquired product portfolio. You will lead improvements in manufacturing quality, capacity, and stability through solving problems, developing solutions, and executing strategies.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.

  • Provides technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products

  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.

  • Plans and administers procedures and budgets.

  • Makes budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.

  • Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.

  • Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.

  • Management Skills: Management of Financial and Material Resources, Critical Thinking, Project Management, Management of Personnel Resources, Collaboration and Productivity Software, Effective Communication Skills.

  • Functional Skills: Manufacturing Functional Test Technologies, Proficient computer skills, Data Science and Analysis, Lean Manufacturing and continued improvement, Managing Quality

  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

  • May operate related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

· Bachelors degree required

· Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in medical device environment

  • Supervisory experience

  • Must be proficient in all MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Experience with processes such as Quality Systems documentation protocols

  • Strong communication skills

  • Able to work cross functionally across the business

  • Strong focus on developing an organizational culture that fosters teamwork

  • Ability to set performance expectations and hold others accountable

  • Experience reading & understanding assembly work instructions & eng. Specifications

  • Ability to self-prioritize workload and take ownership of decisions

The provided base salary range is used nationally in the United States (except in Puerto Rico and certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
