Work involves assisting in maintaining and repairing buildings, utility systems, and stationary equipment; and operating motorized equipment. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.1. Performs maintenance, construction, and repair work such as masonry, welding, carpentry, painting, or mechanical work.2. Operates and maintains motorized vehicles and equipment.3. May assist with the preventative maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and utility systems.4. May assist with plumbing; electrical; or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work.5. May assist with maintenance and repairs of machines, equipment, boilers, and boiler feed pumps.6. May repair and upholster furniture.7. May repair equipment and fabricate parts for repairs.8. May perform inspections of operating machinery, equipment, and utility systems to ensure efficient and safe operations.9. Performs related work as assigned.Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsMust possess valid Texas driverand#146;s license or obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date.
