Position Type: Athletics/Activities/Head Coach Date Posted: 4/5/2024 Location: High School Date Available: 08/12/2024 Closing Date: Until Filled Description: Head Coach - Girls Soccer Job Summary: Responsible for the overall supervision of all aspects of the girls 7-12 soccer program. This coach is expected to coordinate the instruction, training, and development of all athletes and coaches at this level in the sport; model a transformational, purpose-driven philosophy; represent a holistic definition of success; commit to personal development and collaboration; display a values-based approach as a coach who develops people first, and then the athlete; coach the athlete first, and then the skill; coach for the student-athletes before themselves; make a lasting, positive impact on the school community; have meaningful, rewarding personal coaching experiences. Qualifications: Valid Minnesota coaching certificate or meet a 60 clock-hour equivalency. The MSHSL serves its member schools by providing the MN Head Coaches Course to help coaches meet this requirement. This course is a seven hour in-person course and requires additional on-line requirements to meet 60 clock-hours of instruction. Fulfills the following criteria: Strong work ethic and dedication to furthering the benefits of participation in co-curricular activities. Leadership skills including but not limited to organization, vision, motivation, and conflict resolution. Ability to work with student athletes, parents, staff, and community. Can verify substantial knowledge of the rules and technical aspects of soccer; and Can verify substantial knowledge of Minnesota High School League rules. Ability to lift and move around objects weighting 10+ pounds regularly. A strong background in high school, collegiate and/or club soccer competition as a participant and/or coach is preferred.
