Job Summary The Process Safety Senior Manager is the technical leader for process safety support for all asset types in operation in Messer North America, such as: ASU, CO2, LH2, Helium, On-sites, and H2 filling. The incumbent is responsible for managing the risk-based process safety program aimed at minimizing process safety incidents in the organization. He/she will be a player/coach who leads and motivates a small team of process safety professionals and drives continuous in the program. Why Messer? Principal Responsibilities Principal engineering change manager for the MOC process with responsibility for administration of the MOC program for Messer Americas. Process Hazard Analysis leadership. lead or approve HAZOP reviews and LOPA studies. Lead or oversee Operations/Engineering Audits in the Messer North America production fleet. Lead the investigation of process safety incidents. Carry out root cause analysis, communicate lessons from incidents (LFI's) and ensure corrective actions are assigned and implemented. Keep technical and management standards up to date as they pertain to process safety. Keep abreast of external regulatory standards (e.g. NFPA, ASME, etc.). Drive continuous improvements in the process safety program for Messer Americas. Required Skills Demonstrated knowledge of risk based process safety principles, and experience in applying them: Management of Change (MOC) PHA techniques (HAZOP, LOPA, etc.) Incident investigation Audits Possesses strong communications and leadership skills Ability to think strategically, challenge the status quo and improve existing processes/programs Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical preferred Minimum 15 years experience in an Engineering or Technical Operations role within the Process Industries - Industrial Gases experience preferred Minimum of 5 years in a management role About Messer: Messer's safety culture, commitment to providing dependable supply and innovative gas technology solutions help customers unlock opportunities to be safer, more sustainable, more productive and more efficient, so their business thrives.
