PAC Worldwide Corp EcoRoll Operator (3rd Shift) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 3687 Description The EcoRoll Operator Level I is responsible for the operation of the EcoRoll machinery to produce corrugated paper rolls and other similar products that will meet or exceed PAC quality standards.

3rd Shift, 11:00pm - 7:00am, Sunday - Thursday Weekly Pay with Paid Breaks! Pay Rate: $24.75 per hour plus a $2.10 shift differential per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Understand machine mechanics, including unwind, knives, rollers, web, etc. Understand materials used in process - paper types, starch adhesive, steam etc. Understand basic concepts involved in producing corrugated paper and be able to conduct basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities related to machine operation and quality issues. Job setup or changeover on machine with no supervision following standard work procedures Perform necessary machine power/startup, setup, changeovers, shift turnovers, and power down procedures with supervision or assistance Read and comprehend work order Accurately complete "First Off Check Sheet" Produce product to work order specifications Print labels for finished goods and ensure proper placement Complete and apply roll tags Maintain budgeted scrap levels Complete Quality check sheet after every roll/per required frequency. Complete production data entry consistently and accurately into applicable computer systems Maintain required inventory levels for pull system Stage rolls in required locations Familiar with downstream converting equipment Close work orders (remove job packets, placard for partials, remove materials) Identify E-stops and safety sensitive areas Assist in Maintenance PM's on EcoRoll machinery, steam generators and starch system Material boards accurate and updated Housekeeping per 5S Handoff Audits Practice safe behavior with regards to equipment and task Able to resolve routine technical problems independently. Understand RM and FG part numbers Able to count inventory Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications: General: Must be capable of reading work instructions Must be capable of reading and adhering to safety rules Must be capable of reading a ruler and caliper Must be able to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-pace environment Must be capable of maintaining good attendance Must be willing to cover another shift in the event of a call off

Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or its equivalency At least 1 year of direct machine operation experience producing corrugated paper.

Language Skills: Must be able to understand and read English with good interpersonal skills

Mathematical Skills: Must be capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations

Reasoning Ability: Must possess good organization and time management skills and practices

Computer Skills: Must be capable of using a computer to perform data entry and printing functions - required Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel - preferred

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work is performed by using both hands and arms while in a standing position for an eight to twelve-hour shift, with rotating weekends. Frequently bends, reaches, twists, pushes, pulls, squats, or kneels. Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist on a regular basis.

Employee will primarily be working inside in a semi-climate controlled manufacturing environment in order to perform the essential functions of the job.

Additional Requirements: Because numerous other machines are dependent on the product produced by the EcoRoll line, all EcoRoll operators must ensure that the machine stays running by covering for paid time off, etc. Call offs must be covered by a qualified Operator. Must be willing to work a 12-hour shift.
