GAP Solutions Inc Technical Writer in Bethesda, Maryland

Position Objective:

The Technical Writer is responsible for preparing comprehensive documents with strategic messaging to support the mission of the office. This role involves utilizing technical expertise to contribute to the development of new programs, conducting risk assessments, and managing technical progress. Additionally, the Technical Writer assists in developing presentation briefings that accurately convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior Health and Human Services (HHS) personnel and stakeholders. This position is supporting HHS within the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). The Technical Writer role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with extensive scientific expertise and strong writing skills to contribute to the success of ARPA-H's initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. New Program Support :
  • Provide expert input and research ideas for new programs, concepts, and technologies.

  • Assist in developing strategic and technical plans to promote ARPA-H's mission.

    1. Technical Expertise/Subject Matter Expertise (SME) :
  • Offer technical expertise and SME support for new and ongoing programs.

  • Provide recommendations to mitigate technical risk and assess program impact.

  • Conduct independent assessments of laboratory tests and research proposals.

    1. Risk Assessment and Management :
  • Review, assess, and provide recommendations to identify and mitigate technical risk at the program level.

  • Support the development and implementation of a risk management strategy at the agency level.

    1. Program/Study/SBIR Management Support :
  • Track technical progress and deliverables for ongoing efforts.

  • Liaise with Government agents, performers, and the technical community to ensure program success.

  • Prepare program management briefings and documents describing technical approaches.

    1. Briefing Support :
  • Develop presentation briefings to support the mission of the office, incorporating strategic messaging.

  • Assist in preparing presentation material that accurately conveys complex technical concepts.

  • Support the presentation of new start concepts and briefings to senior HHS personnel and stakeholders.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree Requirement: Ph.D. in Biology or a related scientific field.

  • Years of Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to convey complex scientific information clearly and effectively.

  • Strong analytical and research abilities.

  • Proficiency in synthesizing technical concepts into presentation materials.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
