JOB SUMMARY

Our luxury design team is looking for great storytellers, passionate designers who can skillfully influence our owners and designers to weave these into extraordinary designs and experiences. The focus of the position is our Luxury Full-Service Brands – The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott & The Luxury Collection. This position will primarily support the development of Luxury Branded Residences and manage Residences renovation programs.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

  • 4-year degree from an accredited interior design program

  • Four or more years experience in the design field

  • Ability to travel up to 40%

  • Knowledgeable about innovation & trends both in & outside of the industry

  • Demonstrated ability to build & maintain strong working relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and be flexible when appropriate

  • Understands architecture documents and contract documents

  • Strong business acumen

  • Problem solving & creative solution skills

  • Strong organizational skills & demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities & resources

  • Sales orientation

  • Knowledge of FF&E specification software

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, scheduling, project & database mgmt. software (e.g., Microsoft Project, AutoCad, Bluebeam, Adobe)

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results

Education and Experience Preferred

  • NCIDQ certificate

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Manage all aspects of franchised, managed or corporate projects for new construction, conversion or renovation and the interior design process for adherence to hotel and residential brand standards.

  • Provide information, interpretation, and guidance to outside owners as well as internal design and construction staff for adapting Brand standards to specific projects.

  • Support internal stakeholders, owners, architects and other consultants to maintain quality, budget, and schedule.

  • Make presentations to various levels in the organization including senior executive leadership and owners to gain their approval of the recommendations.

  • Manage all projects through Oasis platform, providing timely accurate updates to support the business needs.

  • Function as project manager, guiding work of team, or manage a program.

  • Participate in establishing direction of brand design.

  • Select and manage interior design consultants.

  • Develop and maintain liaison with all appropriate divisions, departments and owners.

  • Monitor interior design project budget and coordinate staff requirement with other business groups.

  • Review and/or develop interior design concepts.

  • Provide field input to product development group.

  • Manage project workload in support of brand or business unit growth goals.

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

  • Coordinates and implements work and projects as assigned.

  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.

  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Manages the flow of questions and directs questions.

  • Complies with Federal and State laws applying to procedures.

Supporting Operations

  • Works with team to put sustainable work processes and systems in place that support the execution of the strategy.

  • Establishes and maintains complete and up-to-date information to ensure accurate reporting.

  • Represents team in resolving situations.
