Eaton Corporation Quality Control Value Stream Manager in Bethel, Connecticut

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Quality Control Value Stream Manager. This position will be located at our Bethel, CT facility.

The QC Value Stream Manager will lead the quality inspection department and drive continuous improvements in production, quality, and safety while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS). Responsible product lines include; commercial aviation, military fighter jet, and NASA propulsion pressure sensor products. This position plays a key role in the site Lean Council, Operations BOS (Business Operating System) team, and leadership for Quality excellence. The person in this position will direct the daily activities of the inspection team and develop strategic plans to guide continuous improvement activities within their assigned departments.

The expectation for work hours in this role is a minimum of 45 per week and at a minimum, work the hours of 6:45 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

• Oversee and lead all activities associated with inspection of incoming components, in-process product, and final acceptance of product to meet customer expectations. The leader shall also be responsible to monitor and manage direct and indirect hourly resources in the assignment of work responsibilities, development, and alignment of resources to load.

• Champion a culture of change and drive continuous improvement within the inspection department and throughout the facility using Lean, Quality Leading Indicators (QLI), and the Eaton Business System

• Achieve key Balanced Scorecard (BSC) metrics including Productivity, On-Time Delivery, Quality Leading Indicators, Cost of Non-Conformance (CONC) and Safety.

• Support Eaton’s Zero Defect Plan (EZDP), by generating inspection plans, first article reports, and inspection strategies for Eaton’s electro-mechanical pressure sensor products. Update Quality Management System (QMS) documentation in areas of responsibility.

• Maintain assigned elements of the QMS by performing internal audits, participating in external customer audits, and completing formal corrective action reports.

• Support Material Review Board (MRB) and resolution of rejected product.

• Become a site champion in one of the areas related to Eaton’s Environmental, Health, & Safety system (MESH).

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in Operations/Manufacturing.

• Minimum of one (1) year experience managing direct reports OR a minimum of five (5) years Quality Assurance experience.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 60-mile radius of Bethel, CT will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of two (2) years experience in leading Continuous Improvement efforts.

• Previous experience in Mechanical or Electrical inspection.

• Experience with customer or supplier-related Quality Assurance duties.

Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong leadership, coaching and influence management skills.

• Ability to balance multiple priorities.

• Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
