DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Position Summary: The Field Service Technician will provide troubleshooting and support in hardware, software and application questions to customers at site, as well as over the phone in remote sessions.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: * Travel extensively, throughout USA Monday through Friday, via plane, automobile or other means of transportation. Occasional International Travel. Occasional work/travel on weekends/holidays. Travel at least 90%. * Perform remote and phone technical and applications support for customers and service technicians. * Provide installations and training to customers and other field service engineers. * Perform both complex and basic on-site customer support activities involving the installation, service, repair, hardware integration, hardware and software upgrades, support troubleshooting, and training on products at customer sites in a timely manner. * Conduct on-site installation of complex products and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working order. * Check out and approve operational quality of products. Isolate equipment start-up malfunctions and take corrective action. * Answer complex technical questions on equipment and work with customers to troubleshoot problems. * Work with In-House Tech Support and Manufacturing groups for corrective action and resolution. Make recommended design changes. * Attend necessary training to obtain the most current knowledge in their area of support * Prepare and submit expense and service reports timely and accurately. * Continuous Spectro hardware and software training. Locally and International. * Candidate should be located in Phoenix AZ; Denver, CO; or Salt Lake City, UT and within 1 hour from a major airport.

Required knowledge and skills: * Competency and high level of understanding of control system electronics and high voltage power supplies. * Ideally two years' experience in the operation of Analytical Instrumentation (ICP-OES, ED-XRF, HH-XRF & Arc/Spark-OES). * Minimum 3 years hands-on field service experience or Maintenance & repair/service of analytical lab instrumentation. * Competency and high level of understanding of vacuum systems, metallurgy, physics and chemistry (preferred). * Competency in use of basic hand tools. * Above average computer skills, knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint and other similar software packages. * Analytical Chemistry Background is a plus. * Associates Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
