Amazon Logistics Program Manager, Robotics Deployment Engineering in Berlin, Germany

Description

The Amazon Robotics Deployment Engineering team is seeking an experienced and business-oriented Deployment Logistics Program Manager to lead the front end of the supply chain and long-lead strategy for expanding robotic automation in our global fulfillment network. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to dive deep into solving complex problems. They must be a self-starter capable of executing at both tactical and strategic levels with great attention to detail.

The responsibilities include developing detailed delivery plans in collaboration with customs, vendors, and stakeholders. The candidate will need to align with Amazon Supply Chain Teams and fulfill scheduling commitments prior to deployment. The Deployment Logistics Program Manager role involves driving an inventive and simplified strategy, requiring high work capacity, attention to detail, and agility to manage business changes while continuously driving initiatives.

This position will be based in Berlin.

Traveling requirement up to 50%.

Key job responsibilities

  • Support operations of the Deployment teams globally, identifying and managing network related material issues to closure

  • Monitor project status, drive and elevate decision making, escalate critical requests of Deployment team

  • Field ad-hoc shipment requests and/or provide guidance to ensure no discontinuities from the carriers or internal transportation teams

  • Assess current supply chain performance; help identify improvement opportunities that can deliver value by making the Deployment and Logistics operations more effective, efficient and scalable

  • Working in a global, culturally diverse team

A day in the life

You will be interacting daily with a wide variety of functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization and in multiple time zones. You will conduct daily and weekly meetings with internal teams, stakeholders and partners to plan and manage deliverables. You’ll be liaising with subject matter experts from across the organization, diving deep in both Deployment and Supply Chain processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in relevant field like Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Business Administration / Industrial or Planning Engineering

  • Experience in supply chain operations, logistics or inventory management

  • Experience developing mechanisms and measuring key operational metrics (e.g., order cycle time, ship estimate accuracy, on time, just in time and complete shipment, inventory record defect rate)

  • Relevant experience working with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP..etc)

  • Knowledge of SQL / R / any data analytics tool

  • Having a deep understanding of supply chain management and related tools and processes

  • B2/C1 level of English language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills paired with hands-on attitude, excellent attention to detail, and good business judgement

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment; ability to re-prioritize on a regular basis in order to remain current with business needs

  • Self-motivated; ability to handle multiple responsibilities under limited supervision

  • Ability to influence others in a positive and professional manner

  • High level of ownership for your projects and daily tasks

  • German, French, Spanish, Italian or Japanese language proficiency
