Job Description Summary

The Lead Control & Protection Software Engineer will be part of highly motivated dynamic team of engineers working on design, development and maintenance of control and protection system application software for LCC and VSC HVDC schemes following full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement and document Control and Protection Simulink modules

  • Update/create requirement and design specifications

  • Review and identify needed implementation on module by module bases

  • Update/create Simulink unit test scenarios and run testing

  • Update/create documentation and reports to match implementation

  • Intermediate reviews with technical leaders at each step of the update process (initial review -> proposed implementation plan -> updated model and test harness -> final approval of test results and documentation)

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Software/Power Electronics (Control) Engineering with considerable work experience (as Lead/Senior developer)

  • In-depth understanding of HVDC technology and Control and/or Protection design principles and algorithms

  • Understanding theoretical aspects of MMC converters and protection systems in power system domain

  • Experience of developing and testing Control and/or Protection functions

  • Extensive experience in working with Matlab – Simulink

  • Familiar with Agile-SW development practices

  • Experienced user Jira and Confluence for task management and documentation

  • Strong can-do attitude and energy level

  • Demonstrated experience and track record of success in working with global engineering teams
