GE Vernova Indirect Sourcing Lead (m/f/d) in Berlin, Germany

Job Description Summary

The Indirect Sourcing Lead will work closely with assigned Sourcing Manager, business and sites as the local owner for assigned segment(s). He/She/They will be the primary source of contact for leading large RFQs related to indirect commodities for own assigned regions/countries to reach deflation targets. He/She/They will also drive usage reduction initiatives within indirect commodities. These responsibilities include the execution of strategies to ensure realization of the business objectives specific to Indirect Sourcing responsibilities aligning with Grid Global Indirect Sourcing leaders, Global Commodity leaders and GEV Category Team.

Job Description

Essential General Responsibilities:

  • Proactively lead the deployment of the global sourcing strategies at the local level to meet overall deflation and productivity objectives within the assigned locations. Fully accountable for successfully meeting deflation, cash and usage targets for assigned locations.

  • Execute regional cost reduction projects that support the global projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance to validate the impact of projects to the general ledger, utilizing iSave and other tools.

  • Develop and execute long term, local/regional strategies to align with business plans and objectives within various sub-commodities across GE for spend areas not addressed by GE Preferred Suppliers.

  • Manage / actively support tactical execution of projects, escalations due to delivery / quality issues, invoicing / payable issues, database management, improve payment terms, assist internal customers with SOW development through to PO execution (as necessary).

  • Drive use of GE Preferred Suppliers and work with Business Sourcing/ Category Management teams to communicate demand for goods or services not currently addressed by GE Preferred Suppliers.

  • Participate in GE Global Operations Sourcing initiatives to leverage best practices; partner with other regional Indirect Sourcing Leaders within GRID, GE Grid Global Commodity Leaders and GE Vernova Category Management to maximize synergies and global supplier management.

  • Enforce business policies to meet business targets and customer needs, including improving procurement processes and optimizing Sourcing resources to enhance the customer experience with Sourcing.

  • Engage with GE GRID Commodity leaders and Local Business leaders to leverage volume and combine strategies on deflation and cash improvements for all suppliers.

Scope:

  • Indirect commodities in the scope are: Labor, Facility Management, IT, Travel, and Professional Services. Commodities covered can be changed, reduced or enlarged depending on the business need

  • Scope regions are: Germany, Netherlands and Poland ( other regions could be added )

Qualifications / Requirements :

Hard skills:

  • Bachelor ‘s degree in Sourcing, Business or Engineering (Preferred Masters’ degree)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience

  • Proven Sourcing Experience (preferred Indirect)

  • Desired experience in managing key commodities such as Temp Labour (Office and factory workers) and complex Engineering contracts/Statement of Work with both Time and material and work package approaches.

  • Broad competence in sourcing analyses, data mindset

  • Strong contracting background

  • Good understanding of international Business & Sourcing
