What you'll do:

SAP aims to develop an Open Reference Architecture (ORA) for a secure and sustainable cloud edge infrastructure that includes intelligent optimization methods for data transparency and security. This reference infrastructure, aspired by the EU IPCEI-CIS (Important Project of Common European Interest Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure and Services) program, shall be the basis for future software development and a prerequisite for a pan-European cloud edge infrastructure.

SAP will be working on the publicly funded project with both experienced employees from its existing workforce but also new hires. Therefore, we are looking for suitable candidates. If you are interested in Cloud Operating System development and operation, the usage and further development of Open-Source solutions and standards, interoperability, efficiency, and sustainability you should consider applying.

As a cloud-native Developer/ Senior Developer (f/m/d), you will closely collaborate with your team members to design and implement the next generation observability stack for Cloud Operating System based on OpenTelemetry standards. The observability stack will cover all aspects of highly automated, low touch and secure cloud operations.

Here are some items of your daily work:

  • Collaborate closely with your peer developers and architects to innovate on the next-gen cloud observability stack

  • Take end-to-end ownership from design, development, testing to rollout

  • Develop automations to streamline processes and operations

  • Contribute to open-source projects

What you bring:

  • Degree in Applied Sciences, preferably in in Computer Science or related field

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Kubernetes API and Helm

  • Excellent programming skills in Golang

  • Familiar with Git, open-source, and Linux

  • Very good English skills written and spoken

  • Min. 3 years of experience in Cloud Engineering
