What does a successful Sr. Oracle DBA do at Fiserv?

Fiserv is a world-class data and analytics organization delivering the next generation of powerful data insights and decisioning solutions to financial institutions, fintech, consumer/business credit bureaus, government agencies and merchants. 

As a successful Senior Oracle DBA you will design, install, maintain and upgrade the enterprise’s production databases. Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance. Provide technical expertise in the use of database technology. Accountable for the overall performance of the enterprise’s database environment and hardening of the database systems. Work closely with clients, business analysts, systems programmers, and application developers to define and resolve information flow and content issues---helping to transform business requirements into environment specific databases.

What you will do:

  • Analyze business requirements and provide server and database sizing

  • Identify database bottlenecks and provide remediation steps as well as implement database backup solutions

  • Design and implement security configuration including grants, roles, and profiles, perform database security monitoring and perform database auditing and implement security standards

  • Design, implement, and test enterprise level disaster recovery solutions and high availability database solutions including clustering

  • Design and implement logical database schemas including ERD diagraming

  • Perform database schema change management, control, and execute code deployments to upper database environments and execute database data movement to satisfy ETL, backup/recover

  • Administer and maintain ETL tools including Informatica

What you will need to have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA. Experience working with Oracle 12.1 thru 19c.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Deep understanding or experience supporting databases on Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) or ExaData/ExaCC/ExaCS

  • Experience with Informatica and Oracle OEM

  • Database installation, upgrading, migrating, patching, disaster recovery, high availability, monitoring, assessing, and providing resolution

What would be great to have:

  • Experience with MS SQL database administration

  • In-depth knowledge of Goldengate or Data Guard replication

  • Security Hardening and vulnerability management

  • Familiarity with fail-over testing and participation in DR exercises
