Ingersoll Rand Applications Engineer in Benoi Rd, Singapore

Role Summary:

The Applications Engineer shall report to the Applications Supervisor and assist him in Applications / Quotations and other duties assigned. He should be able to perform his duties with minimum supervision and is expected to work closely with the rest of the team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Applications / Sales & Marketing Group in terms of calculation, sizing, selection, pricing and preparation of proposals for Nash Engineered Vacuum & Compressor System, Centrifugal Blower, Dry Vacuum Pump and Turbo Blower Packages.

  • Analyse major inquiries (customer’s process data, specifications, instrumentations, control philosophy, drawings and required scope of supply etc.), after which prepare the proposal to meet the customer’s specifications and needs.

  • Analyse specifications from both the technical and commercial aspects as required.

  • Assist the Sales & Marketing in preparing tender document submission and attend technical sales meeting and negotiation, when necessary. Regional travelling may be required.

  • Assist the Aftermarket team to analyse the requirement / specifications of spare parts and prepare the relevant proposals.

  • Co-ordinate with factories and sales offices located in different parts of the world for pricing, delivery & clarifications etc. of our Nash Products.

  • Co-ordinate with our Head Office or Engineering Department to ensure that selection and pricing are consistent with our marketing objectives as well as customer’s needs and quality standards.

  • Co-ordinate with Vendors and / or our Project Group for quotations on accessories as per customer’s required Scope of Supply and translate Costs into Selling Prices, using our standard pricing policy.

  • Update the system for customer’s database and develop customer order folders for all customer’s inquiries from initial proposal to final delivery.

  • Assist the Project team in providing Process Design, detailed engineering, specifications for procurement of process equipment, instrumentation & accessories etc.

  • Provide applications / technical support and co-ordination with Sales Representatives and Distributor Offices in the Asia Pacific region. Some sales follow-ups may be required.

  • Resolve any discrepancies between Purchase Orders, customer’s specifications, quotations, and other information sheets as required.

  • Analyse and process Sales Orders, specify special equipment and review final drawings for adherence to customer’s specifications / requirement.

  • To be familiar with our various sizing program, Axapta System, Database System and other operating system and put them in good use.

  • Provide Quote Data / Status Report or other relevant reports required, when necessary.

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience in Air Compressors, Blowers & Vacuums

  • Good communication skills

  • Willing to adapt and learn
