The Cloud Business Unit Enablement team is responsible for accelerating public cloud adoption throughout Morgan Stanley. This is a global, multi-discipline team responsible for architecting and delivering secure, robust, and innovative solutions which enable development teams to build and deploy new applications as well as migrate select existing applications into the public cloud.

Job Description

This role is for a senior cloud engineer/ architect who will help architect and onboard public cloud services, on Microsoft Azure and AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure/AWS and experience designing and building cloud service automations in support of applications migrating to Azure and AWS. Automations will include Azure Landing Zones as well as Azure storage, compute and data services that will support enterprise applications.

This role requires a strong combination of both development and infrastructure knowledge and experience. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate technical leadership with a track record of developing and driving innovative solutions for public cloud.

The person will be the team lead in the Bengaluru office for 10-12 engineers for the entire Modernization fleet and should have prior management experience.

Primary responsibilities

Career Experience of 12 years

Lead the delivery of cloud infrastructure automation to support public cloud adoption.

Team leads for 10-12 engineers for the Modernization Fleet

Build services on public cloud and / or provide standard Infrastructure as code (IaC) modules.

Develop tooling and self-service capabilities.

Integrate automation workflows into CI/CD pipelines.

Troubleshoot cloud deployments / issues with cloud services.

Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to enhance the developer experience.

Contribute to major design decisions and product selection for Azure services.

Required skills:

Experience with the Azure Platform, common Azure services and Azure CLI/ PowerShell

Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible or ARM

Experience designing and architecting Azure PaaS services.

Demonstrated experience working within an Agile/DevOps environment.

Strong skills in Application Development (Java/Python/.Net) and/or data (SQL, NoSQL, Big Data)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and using test driven frameworks.

Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.

Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.

Strong desire and ability to work with development teams and help them adopt public cloud.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global organization and across time zones.

Desired Skills

Knowledge of security controls and/or security tooling for the public cloud

Experience with contributing to open-source tooling.

Experience with alternate cloud providers (e.g., AWS, GCP)

Experience in large, regulated industry.

Bachelor's degree in a related field
