Google Technical Program Manager, Geo Data Escalations in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6 years of experience as a technical program manager managing cross-functional programs.

  • Experience in SQL.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

  • Experience in computer security industry such as Detection Research, Malware Analysis, Threat Intelligence, Cyber Incident Response, Pen Testing/Red Team and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) based investigations.

  • Experience in vendor management, in particular within a managed services model.

  • Experience in an abuse fighting or security domain.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The Geo Intel and Escalations team handles a range of preventative and reactive risk management functions. We provide fire fighting support for major Geo data issues that can impact our users and our brand such as think offensive content on the map, fraudulent websites or even unsafe driving directions. We also provide an intel and threat framework which allows partner teams throughout Geo to leverage for threat detection and mitigations.

The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

  • Drive forensic root cause analysis of abuse attacks. Design processes to optimize the impact of incident investigations.

  • Produce reports and communications to enable partner teams to develop mitigation plans. Drive risk mitigation programs for significant events (e.g., elections, social unrest, etc.).

  • Partner with Engineering teams to develop subject matter expertise about system vulnerabilities. Act as an incident manager to contain abuse attacks/unplanned events.
