Job Description

Summary:

The Sr. Principal Engineering IT Infrastructure Administrator will take a key role executing the strategy of the Global Engineering IT team. This role will be responsible for supporting the Engineering teams in the implementation and support of Infrastructure and HPC Administration for Electronic Design Automation.

The candidate will implement and support modern compute, storage, backup, monitoring, and cloud services along with the existing team providing these services, while maintaining legacy systems. Additionally, the candidate will advise on relevant technologies, provide technical expertise, and assist the product and test engineering teams in maturing and transforming business processes. This role will be a global role.

Responsibilities:

  • Setup and admin network and OS configurations with proficiency in Unix Admin (RHEL, Centos, Rocky Linux, Alma, Fedora).

  • Supporting all aspects of servers, Linux/UNIX operating systems, backups and recovery, and related infrastructure applications.

  • Knowledge of SAP support.

  • Automation (DevOps Toolchains) will be key to this role for implementing Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Python)

  • Network configuration and optimization.

  • Support and troubleshoot system as well as network related connectivity issues.

  • Work with third party vendor for equipment management and setup on the company’s network.

  • Designing and implementing solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Maintaining design and operational documentation for all supported systems.

  • Collaborating with internal cross-functional teams and external technology partners to prioritize, estimate and complete projects in support of business initiatives.

  • Coordinating infrastructure changes with appropriate teams to ensure uninterrupted service.

  • Proactively monitoring and collecting performance data as well as conducting real-time analysis of systems to mitigate business impacting events.

  • Participating in strategic and tactical operational planning for business continuity.

  • Monitoring and analyzing the impact of new technology on existing and future capacity.

  • Defining and executing a regular patching schedule for all systems.

  • Working closely with the Cyber Security Team to maintain secure systems and processes.

  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, certifications, or equivalent experience

• Minimum 8 years applicable experience

• Experience delivering and supporting technology services on a global scale

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Self-directing individual demonstrating teamwork, organization skills and well-structured working approach given multiple priorities

• Experience working with cross-functional and matrixed teams

• Ability to use a wide degree of creativity and latitude to think differently, challenge conventional wisdom, and drive new best practices

• Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and software management tools

• Ability to interact effectively at all levels with international teams while being sensitive to cultural diversity
