Amazon India is a fast-paced, dynamic, high-tech company. Amazon’s accounting team is searching for finance accounting professionals who consistently exceed expectations, who thrive in a challenging workplace, and who can actively contribute to our talented team.

We are currently looking for candidates who are at the Sr Financial analyst level. Successful candidates for this position will have the equivalent of 5+ years of professional experience with financial accounting, reporting and internal control related responsibilities. This position will have responsibility for supporting all parts of our financial reporting process and will be expected to understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area. Technical accounting research and position paper writing will also be a requirement of this position.

This position is expected to have a strong sense of ownership, ability to identify process improvement opportunities, drive positive change across the organization, and enhance partnerships between accounting and various business finance, operations accounting and IT groups and ability to deliver results and commitment to highest standards of quality.

Key job responsibilities

  • Accounting and analysis of a specific business vertical and/or function.

  • Manage day to day operational accounting and carry out the month end close activities.

  • Driving efficiencies in business processes and guiding business teams on accounting areas.

  • Evaluating accounting positions for new projects and writing technical position papers.

  • Interact closely with FP&A, projects team, tech teams and stakeholders from Seattle for various operational challenges, new initiatives and new entity launches.

  • Partnering with the members of the global accounting organization to develop process improvement initiatives, and assist in the identification of accounting standards for global consistency.

  • Coordinating with auditors for timely closure of statutory audit and tax audit.

Basic Qualifications

- - 5+ years of relevant experience in Big4 audit firms, multi-national corporate or operational accounting experience.

- - CA or CPA qualification is a must.

- - Strong communications skills and able to work effectively with teams in India and US.

- - Understanding of US GAAP, Indian Accounting Standards and communicate frequently with external auditors and regulators ensuring that Amazon India is compliant with all applicable laws, pronouncements and regulations.

- - The successful candidate will be a self-starter, a collaborative team-player, and an excellent communicator.

- - Prior experience of managing relationship with Big4 auditors will be an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

- - Candidate will also have strong written and oral communication skills, solid organizational, risk assessment and information technology aptitude.

- - Prior working experience in Oracle module and ability to carry out analytics.
