LinkedIn's Machine Learning Engineers are both data/research scientists and software engineers, who develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms. Unlike other companies that separate these roles, our engineers work on projects from ideation to implementation.

As an AI/ML Engineering Manager, you'll be the driving force behind the cutting-edge foundational models and platforms that power LinkedIn’s Trust ecosystem. With a deep understanding of both machine learning theory and practical implementation, you'll lead a talented team in developing algorithms that enhance user experiences, efficient processes while ensuring a safe and engaging environment for our global community. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of social interaction, utilizing advanced techniques like natural language processing, computer vision, and recommendation systems.

This role will be based in Bangalore.

Responsibilities:

  • As a hands-on manager, you will participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team.

  • Collaborate with application engineering, product, and partner teams to design machine learning solutions to be applied at scale and contribute to the product and engineering strategy.

  • Develop roadmaps and drive execution.

  • Attract world class talent and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience

  • 6+ years of industry experience with machine learning, optimization algorithms, and/or deep learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience

  • Worked with web-scale traffic and data.

  • Experience with building scalable AI systems and foundation models

  • Experience in natural language processing and/or computer vision.

  • Experience with content moderation and/or anti-abuse.

  • Experience with statistical modeling deployed at scale.

  • Analytical approach coupled with solid communication skills, a sense of ownership.

  • Strong product and strategic thinking.
