The Strategy and Technology Group (STG) is a new initiative within Aon to deliver innovative consulting and technologysolutions to its clients. This is a great opportunity to join a growing group and to work with a highly skilled, collaborative team of actuarial and software experts who are using the latest technology to deliver next generation products forinsurance markets.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Senior Python Developer to produce scalable software solutions. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’sresponsible for the full software development life cycle in a deliver and project capacity, from conception to deployment.
As a Senior Python Developer, you should be comfortable interacting with databases, APIs, and be familiar with development frameworks and third-party libraries
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Working on developing our project implementations by writing code, testing, analysing, specifying, reviewing and all other activities that form part of the software development lifecycle.• Working with other Developers, QAs, Bas, Actuaries and corresponding leads to ensure successful delivery of high-quality software• Supporting and mentoring other team members• Contributing to process and quality improvement discussions• Providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders• Supporting and potentially leading product deployments• Engaging in ongoing professional development• 6+ years of experience in all aspects of Senior Python engineering position• Agile Development• Strong Analytical skills• Critical thinking• Proactive mindset• Excellent communication skills• Senior level Python Skills• SQL, ideally Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures)• SOLID Principles• Git with GitFlow• Secure coding practices• CI /CD Octopus and Azure Dev Ops PreferedGood to have:• Azure Cloud development• Testing – Integration, End To End, Performance• .NET Skills• API development and testing
