Oracle Senior Software Developer in BENGALURU, India

Job Description

Join the group responsible for the #1 development platform in the world! In this role you will be responsible for resolving issues reported by customers in the Java Client area, which includes Swing, AWT, 2D, JavaFX, Java Webstart, Accessibility and Install components. You will be responsible for resolving complex issues in a timely manner as well as improving the overall quality and stability of Java Client APIs through improvements to the tools that we use to debug and diagnose issues. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Graphics and Internet based rich clients with extensive experience in Windows and macOS development. While the position will be based in Bengaluru, India, you will work with Product Development and Support engineers around the world. In addition to working within standard business hours, there will be occasional on-call requirements during the evening and weekend hours. As a Sustaining Engineer, you will help and mentor Support Engineers, write technical articles, participate in technical discussions & conferences.

The following requirements are expected for the role:

  • Minimum BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent, plus 4-10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Proven work experience in C/Objective C/C++ and Core Java.

  • Experience in Win32 APIs, DirectX, Metal Graphics, Webkit, XCode, OpenGL, GTK+ and similar technologies.

  • Strong knowledge in Data Structures, Algorithms, Graphics Algorithms, Threads, Memory Management etc..

  • Proven record in debugging software issues & using one or more debugging tools such as Windbg, dbx, gdb, etc..

  • Must be results oriented, must have passion for customer satisfaction and ability to provide thorough and useful technical information.

  • Must be an excellent problem solver, creative thinker, and self-motivated.

  • Strong written and oral communication in English, with other languages a plus.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
