Job Description Summary

The role is responsible for working on Advanced manufacturing technology activities; specifically, but not limited to, design and development of Mechanical components, assemblies, tools and fixtures for testing and processing of X-ray tube & High voltage generators. Primary focus will be on cost out/productivity projects. Work in close coordination with respective segment product program managers, manufacturing process Engineers, design change chairperson, senior architect, and principal engineers to support improvements in Product Quality through actionable outcomes of component/Product/Process design and development. Meet or exceed goals through proactive involvement in product failure investigations and root cause analysis. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of Mechanical components with alternate suppliers ( in country or elsewhere ) ensuring compliance with safety standards & project requirements.

  • Lead design & development of tools and fixtures for verifying component assemblies, enabling measurements, and carrying out product processing.

  • Lead development of special purpose machines working in close coordination with supplier by providing clear and detailed requirement specifications.

  • Responsible for working with engineering teams to generate Processing and testing requirement for equipment and define Verification & validation activities.

  • Ensure early focus on manufacturability in NPI and/or Advanced Technology programs. Drive rigor in process capability assessment, process layout, tooling /equipment development and QMS Design Transfer execution

  • Ensure QMS compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance.

  • Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas.

  • Monitor and improve productivity using Lean Six Sigma or related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are timely and cost-conscious and met with quality.

  • Influencing cross-functional teams to implement quality actions.

  • Carries out Engineering design change activities, if needed, by working in close coordination with SDEs (Senior Design Engineers), Architects, Principal Engineers and cross functional teams of operations, quality, regulatory and service.

  • Supports regulatory audit readiness (CFDA, GQC, UL, CSA audit, RoHS compliance, MDR transition etc)

  • Involve in mfg. standup as needed. Support Factory initiative (i.e., scrap, inventory reduction, Lean event)

Required Qualifications

  • MTech/M. E or B.E Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years’ experience as lead design Engineer or similar role.

  • Proficiency in designing cost effective tools and fixtures & understanding of advanced tool design requirements.

  • Familiarity with reading Engineering drawings and GD&T symbols

  • Proficiency in Mechanical engineering software and tools (e.g., ProE, CAM software, Ansys, Matlab).

  • Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, and inspection processes for complex multi-axis machined parts.

  • Good Understanding of measurement techniques using CMM or other instruments.

  • Knowledge of Tubes and High Voltage generators, and associated systems desirable

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a matrix environment.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills. Must be a self-starter.
