Overview

We are seeking a Senior International Tax Manager, reporting to the Sr. Director of Tax, to lead the international tax provision, compliance and reporting function. This position will interface with personnel at various levels of the Company including regional finance teams as well as external partners. Primary responsibilities include managing the Company's international tax processes including US international tax, transfer pricing, foreign direct tax compliance, reporting, and forecasting. This position will also play a key role in supporting worldwide income tax provision, tax planning, audits by governmental authorities, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and analytical skills, strong organizational and communication skills, and be detail-oriented and hands-on.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the US international tax compliance function including global withholding taxes (“WHT”); lead the automation of the withholding tax workflows and compliance processes

  • Maintain, and track US international tax attributes including basis and E&P

  • Liaise across tax, finance, treasury, legal, HR, and with external advisors to ensure compliance

  • Research, evaluate and document tax implications of complex or non-standard US and international transactions; recommend solutions and advise on WHT tax implications on deals

  • Perform and review US international tax calculations including but not limited to FTC, GILTI, FDII, and BEAT; review of US international compliance forms prepared by third party services firms

  • Model international tax calculations to incorporate into forecasts for planning purposes

  • Review of FIN48 analyses for international tax positions; support inquires by governmental authorities related to US international and foreign tax matters.

  • Evaluate tax planning opportunities available to the company (such as tax structure reorganizations, elections) to minimize the company's taxes. Ensure that all claimed positions have the requisite level of authority and communicate risks associated with uncertain positions.

  • Assist in worldwide income tax provision process; perform foreign subsidiary’s return to provision analysis; manage foreign income tax accounts roll-forward, foreign tax payments and foreign subsidiaries’ tax packages

  • Maintain and lead global transfer pricing policies and calculations including review and implementation of transfer pricing studies and other local transfer pricing documentation requirements; coordinate and review annual transfer pricing documentation

  • Monitor and develop internal controls over income tax reporting processes; ensure SOX compliance as it relates to International tax related financial reporting controls by supporting testing and documenting processes

  • Research tax issues and prepare technical memos and documentation to support reporting positions

  • Participate in tax process optimization, develop and implement procedural changes and/or processes

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience

  • BA/BS degree required, CPA, JD or Masters in Taxation preferred but not required

  • Solid understanding of US international tax law

  • Self-starter with strong quantitative and analytical skills with an ability to quickly bridge technical requirements, conceptualize and define workflows and to innovate and enhance processes

  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and complete projects in a growing and fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel, across functions, organizations and with external contacts

  • Ability to work independently

  • The individual must have the highest standards of integrity, business controls and practices

  • High proficiency in excel, tax research software and tools

  • Workday accounting system knowledge/experience a plus
