Rocket Software Senior Contracts Manager - Knowledge of Japanese language is required in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary:

The Senior Contracts Manager will be primarily focused on drafting and negotiating software licensing agreements in support of the Rocket sales organization. This position requires an individual to autonomously operate within established frameworks and approaches with minimal guidance, while managing multiple, complex approval and contract negotiation cycles at various points in the sales cycle. This individual will have highest standards and a bias for action to achieve deal velocity while exercising high judgment and autonomous decision making in often ambiguous situations. They must also be able to take ownership of the approval and contract process.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze complex contractual documents and legal language.

• Proven ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Experience working cross-functionally with sales operations, sales, procurement, and finance teams.

• Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office applications.

• Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving software industry landscape.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Manage the entire contract negotiation process, from initial request and review through negotiation and execution, ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and legal requirements during the contract negotiation.

  • Review, redline, analyze, and negotiate a wide range of software-related contracts, including software licensing agreements, partner agreements, master service agreements, and NDAs.

  • Develop non standard agreements to address unique customer engagements involving complex professional services.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential risks associated with contractual terms, ensuring that contract terms are fair, reasonable, and aligned with the company's risk appetite.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Rocket’s business, products, markets, customers and partners in order to identify trends and formulate effective compliance strategies.

  • Interprets contracts and coordinates with legal staff for guidance.

  • Ensures that accurate database and documents are maintained.

  • Deals knowledgeably with customer assignments, transfers, and outsourcing.

  • Provide day to day responses to requests for legal support for the company as needed.

  • Diplomatic, approachable and possessing good business and personal judgment.

  • Must manage conflicting demands from multiple business clients in a fast-paced environment.

  • Inherent ability to act with the highest integrity and professionalism.

  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Effective management skills with ability to manage the company’s sales contract operations.

  • 7-10 years of experience with technology sales, licensing and procurement transactions and related distributor, reseller, cloud computing, and software product and services agreements.

  • BA/BS, and preferably a Masters or equivalent in related field.

  • Fluent in English and preferably Japanese

  • Strong understanding of software contracts, licensing models, and service agreements.

  • Thorough understanding of Data Protection and Privacy Laws.

  • Familiarity with software industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.

  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze complex contractual documents and legal language.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Ambitious, commercially astute and self-motivated.

  • Preference for Asian Time Zone

  • Experience working with Salesforce is preferred.
