Job Description Summary

Role Summary/Purpose:

Responsible by service project tendering and execution, coordination tracking this scope on constant interface with the stakeholders for Control and Protection for Hydro Plants

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

As a responsible engineer:

  • Design drawings, technical specification and all documentation required for a Digital Control system project providing technical solution according the customer´s requirements, budget and planning;

  • Design and integrate computer system, industry network, electrical panel and field facilities such as: Ethernet/fiber switch, industrial application server, data acquisition server, historian data server and terminal server. Experience with Hydroelectric Power plant automation;

  • Develop electrical design, schematics and drawings in AutoCAD; Assist Industrial Ethernet/Fiber Network Design and Serial network communication (Modbus through RS-232, RS-485);

  • Provide support on tendering activities, development supplier with supply chain support;

  • Ensure the integration between all other products (generator, turbine, BoP, etc.) coordinating the necessary interface;

  • Accountable for assess the risks and opportunities and margin movement for his/ her scope

  • Prepare the systems architecture;

  • Able to perform some changes on Controls programming;

  • Prepare request for quotation to be sent to suppliers;

  • Prepare main deviation list;

  • Evaluate suppliers technical offer;

  • Perform platform TAF tests;

  • Availability to travel to provide site support on commissioning.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Experience on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System Design. Programming Logic Controllers (PLC), configuring and designing HMI.

  • Experience in similar tools like ALSPA and Mark VIe Distributed Control System (DCS) will be highly preferred

  • SQL database inquiry scripting and maintenance; Industrial server software application installed, managed and maintenance.

  • Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Engineering

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Portuguese;
