Google Finance Master Data Analyst in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience working with finance data elements, processes and technologies such as chart of accounts, data structure, finance data management, data integration and data integrity in SAP S/4, Master Data Governance (MDG), or other similar systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with operations in a multi-currency environment.

  • Experience supporting Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, with the technical knowledge of finance master data elements and maintenance models.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and across organizations.

The Finance Data Governance team governs and manages the authoritative source of Alphabet’s Finance Data Elements and ensures availability to all consuming systems consistently, reliably and timely to enable accurate reporting of finance data.

Our team ensures that Company Codes, Cost Centers, General Ledger Accounts, and Location Codes are properly recorded in the systems of record to enable the recording of transactions (i.e., purchases, payroll, etc.) and journal entries in the appropriate categories and accounting periods for accurate financial reporting. We maintain the local chart of accounts for International Reporting, and Financial Statement Versions for Standard Reporting Packages.

As a Data Analyst, you will ensure that Google has all the accurate data to support required reporting needs for sound financial decisions. You will be responsible for maintaining a finance data function through the development and management of a comprehensive data governance structure. You will drive data management projects, providing guidance and developing best practice policies for the design. You will be involved in the day-to-day development and maintenance of an integrated data solution to store data, strengthen data integrity and resolve data inconsistencies, ensuring clear accountability and ownership for the company’s data elements. You will liaison with cross-functional teams to ensure that master data requirements are clearly understood, defined, and integrated.

  • Maintain an enterprise wide data governance framework that supports all current and future business processes, with a focus on ensuring data quality across all systems by establishing the necessary processes and controls around the flow of data from creation to reporting and support that framework.

  • Partner with teams to develop and maintain finance data element logic and mappings that provide data integrity for the entire company.

  • Support daily activities of the master data management process, such as the creation and maintenance all master and reference data across all regions and systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

  • Support the user community with Finance Data Elements activities (e.g., data element creation and modifications, cost center hierarchy creation and updates, etc.).
