Amazon is looking for a Business Analyst in the HCTP (High Consideration Technical Products) Category Excellence team. This opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to have a steep learning curve, expand their knowledge of retail, e-commerce & customer behavior, and derive insights from data to influence key business decisions for Amazon customers and derive continuous improvement using data analysis.

Key job responsibilities

A Business Analyst role in the Category Excellence team is a high visibility role who works with multiple stakeholders and teams across the org to derive insights from data and support day to day business decisions.

Some of the key result areas include, but not limited to:

  1. Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions

  2. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.

  3. Work closely with category, customer service, marketing and finance stakeholders to understand the business requirements and provide analyses.

  4. Understand trends related to Amazon business and recommend strategies to stakeholders to help drive business growth.

  5. Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the direction of the business.

  6. The ideal candidate actively seeks to understand Amazon’s core business values and initiatives, and translates those into everyday practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of data analytics or automation experience

  • 2+ years of capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or similar experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of data pipelining and extraction using SQL

  • Knowledge of SQL and Excel at a moderate or advanced level

  • Experience with data mining tools like SQL, SAS, SPSS, or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in e-commerce, retail or advertising
