ABM Industries Project Manager ABM Mission Critical Solutions in Beltsville, Maryland

Overview

ABM Mission Critical Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical & Mechanical Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of complex electrical and mechanical projects in critical facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects of moderate to high complexity, from initial concept through final close-out.

  • Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet established quality standards and procedures for both electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Act as a central point of contact, effectively communicating with customers, subcontractors, and internal departments to translate project requirements, manage changes, and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying potential roadblocks and implementing necessary revisions to keep projects on track.

  • Oversee site inspections or delegate them to ensure all electrical and mechanical work adheres to project specifications, safety regulations, and building codes.

  • Facilitate contractor onboarding, including site orientation and training, to guarantee all state and local code requirements, permits, inspections, and close-out processes are strictly followed.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to electrical and mechanical personnel, ensuring their competency and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Achieve exceptional customer satisfaction by clearly communicating project details, both technical and non-technical, to all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrate strong project leadership and decision-making skills, consistently delivering projects that meet all stakeholder requirements and are fully commissioned, qualified, and operational.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, completing all necessary documentation.

  • Maintain compliance with NEC, OSHA, State Department of Labor, and other relevant codes and guidelines.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing complex electrical and mechanical construction projects in data centers and or critical facilities..

  • Proven ability to plan, schedule, and execute projects within budget and on time.

  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical building systems, codes, and standards (NEC, OSHA, etc.).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

  • The ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a safe and productive work environment.

  • Proficient in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).

  • Ability to get a high-level government clearance, top-secret and above is required.
