About the role

Senior Regulatory Scientist to join a team supporting the Foods EUM and technologies including dairy & culinary, creamers & whips, texture systems, plant-based alternatives and more. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory for Foods & Meat in NA, supporting innovation & development primarily regionally with some global overlay, formula design, and documentation creations/review and supporting strategic internal initiatives including IP and company positioning. Seeking a highly motivated individual who can prioritize activities in a fluid environment. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong leadership and customer focus.

What will you do?

  • Supports the business thru evaluation of raw materials, labels, product claims, as needed for compliance, making proactive risk-based decisions to enable speed to market while remaining regulatory compliance.

  • Manage customer, supplier, and 3rd-party relationships. Partner with key stakeholders including but not limited to RDA, Sales, Quality, Procurement, supply chain.

  • Understand and interpret regulations, supplying information to address external customer needs, and providing guidance in the development of products by accurately maintaining product information databases.

  • Maintains up-to-date awareness and knowledge of the principles set forth in the food regulations for assigned core technologies, ingredient categories and associated regulatory agencies; actively cross-trains with others to relieve high volume issues and maintain a balance of workload within the department.

  • Commercialize compliant products for positioning and labeling; reviews and approves labels and label copy (where applicable), product specifications, product claims and substantiation to support product development and timely commercialization for new and existing products.

  • Utilize the Kerry systems to review and update specifications and maintain familiarity with product lifecycle management.

  • Participate in external conferences and trade associations as needed; scan and understand evolving government regulatory initiatives and requirements.

What will you need to be successful?

Min BS in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nutrition, or a related science field

7-15+ years experience in regulatory role(s) within the food industry,

Experience with one or more of the following technologies is a plus - dairy, bakery, culinary or emulsifier technologies.

Experience in project management, working with cross-functional teams.

Experience and proficiency with Microsoft programs

Experience with Optiva and SAP is a plus

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $89,000 to $131,000 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
